6. Airboarding in Pennsylvania
Nestled in the Endless Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania, Montage Mountain Resort is the ideal destination for a unique winter adventure. This hotel is one of only seven resorts in the US to offer airboarding, including an uplifting ride atop a lightweight inflatable sleigh. Similar to lying on a skateboard, airboarding does not require previous experience and is easy to play.
The driver can reach 60 m.p.h. as they accelerate down the mountain but fear not – the airboards are designed for optimum maneuverability with the bottom groove, allowing quick turns and quick stops. Airboarding at Montage Mountain is an ideal alternative to traditional skiing and for those seeking a thrill.
It only takes $ 29 for a lift ticket, and the price includes all the equipment and a quick training session. If airboarding is not your style, you can also try snowtubing at this resort with 10 ski tracks running about 800 feet in a specially designed snow tube park.
7. Night Ziplining Tour in New York
Let your fear elements escape by going to the Hunter Mountain Ski Resort in the Catskill Mountains of New York to try a Night Zip Tour. Launched by New York Zipline Canopy Tours, this family-friendly ziplining adventure will take place at Mid Mountain Tour this winter.
The experience includes six zipline, four rope bridges and a 65-foot rappel. The moon and nine podiums are illuminated to guide you through the trip during these three hours. The resort also opens a daytime ziplining adventure called The SkyRider Tour. This is the longest, fastest and highest zipline tour in North America, and the second-largest in the world.
Composed of 4.6 miles of ziplines, the explorer reaches speeds of nearly 50 m.p.h. This tour consists of five zipline tracks side by side, the highest of which stretches 600 feet above the ground.
